Concrete fence posts are more durable and heavier than their timber cousins - but they are a lot less pretty…

A concrete post of 1.8m weighs in at a hefty 26kg - which does give a fence a lot more stability and less give in windy conditions. Other lighter weight alternatives come in at 19kg.

Posts can come with ready made bolt holes, slots and mortises. Sizes are as per timber with most common being 100mm square.

They retail for more than timber posts at around £13 ($26).
