DIY Tool Starter Kit

If you are going to engage in home improvement, you’re going to need a basic tool kit.

We suggest the following as a starting point:

  • 8m tape measure
  • Hammer
  • Comprehensive set of screwdrivers
  • Pipe and electrics detector - absolutely essential
  • Insulated pliers
  • Cordless electric drill with screw driver functionality
  • Junior hacksaw
  • Stanley knife with lots of spare blades
  • Spirit level
  • Adjustable spanner
  • Good quality paintbrushes
  • Roller and tray

As an amateur DIYer these tools should cover most eventualities and they shouldn’t cost more than £100 ($160).
