Multifoil insulation is sparking some debate as to it’s effectiveness.

So here are the key points to consider:

• It’s compact dimensions tend to offer more space than conventional insulation.

• It’s easy and quick to fit.

• The big thing for me is that does not irritate your skin or lungs.

• Multifoil can be lined as one continuous form. This can offer an almost water proof barrier to water vapour.

• Normal insulation wool does lose it’s effectiveness over time. Multifoil tends to maintain effective insulation for longer.

• There are lingering doubts over it’s effectiveness as an insulator.

• Poor sound insulation qualities.

The jury’s out - you decide. If you have a view let us know.
