Playroom Design Tips

Incorporating a playroom into a home can be a great way of keeping the kids occupied, minimises clutter and helps protect some of the more delicate parts of the home! So what do you need to consider:

1. Personally I’m a big fan of laminate or timber floors. Easy to keep clean and less prone to stains and damage. However, carpets do create a little less noise when kids start throwing things around or stomping their feet. I would still go with the timber or laminate floor. You could even consider rubber flooring which has a little give and is a bit easier to keep clean than carpet.

2. Make sure you have plenty of storage for toys and books.

3. Ensure that all the plug sockets have child proof protectors.

4. Use toughened paint that can be easily wiped clean should dirt, food or anything else find it’s way up there.

5. Make it light and airy - well ventilated.
