If you feel uncomfortable up a ladder then this is a job for a professional.

To treat rusty guttering you will need the following:
• A sturdy ladder with a stand off bracket.
• Protective safety goggles.
• Protective gloves.
• Wire brush.
• A cordless electric drill fitted with a wire brush wheel.
• Various sized paint brushes.
• Emery cloth.
• Specialist rust primer.
• Bitumen paint.
• Roof and gutter sealant.
The procedures for repairing rusty guttering are as follows:
• Using the emery cloth and wire brush to remove any rust on the gutter.
• For more stubborn rust, use the drill with fitted wire brush wheel. Make sure you wear protective goggles and gloves.
• Carefully apply a layer of primer to the affected area.
• If there are any holes or cracks in the gutter - use the sealant to fill these in.
• Apply two coats of black bitumen.
